హిందీ నటుడు అనుపమ్ కేర్, ఒక ముఖాముఖిలో వైఫల్యం గురించి మాట్లాడుతూ, తన తండ్రి తనని ప్రోత్సహించిన చిన్ననాటి సంఘటనను ప్రస్తావిస్తూ ఇలా చెప్పారు... అది నాకు చాలా బాగా నచ్చి ఆ వీడియోలోని మాటలను తెలుగులో అనువదించి ఇలా  కింద రాసి మీతో పంచుకుంటున్నాను. 

నేను తొమ్మిదో తరగతి చదువుతున్నాను, ప్రతి తరగతిలోనూ మా రిపోర్ట్ కార్డును మా నాన్న దగ్గరకు తీసుకెళ్లాల్సి వచ్చేది. అందుకని నేను నాన్న దగ్గరికి వెళ్ళి, మీరు సంతకం చేయండి అన్నాను. 

అప్పుడు నాన్న నా మార్కులు చూసి, నువ్వు తరగతిలో 59 వ స్థానంలో ఉన్నవా? అని అడిగారు, దానికి నేను అవుననే అన్నాను. 

మీ తరగతిలో ఎంతమంది విద్యార్థులు ఉన్నారు? అని అడిగితే 60 అని చెప్పాను. అప్పుడు నాన్న నా విషయంలో దిగులు పడతారని అనుకున్నాను. కానీ నాన్న నాతో ఇలా చెప్పారు.

నీకు తెలుసా, ఆటల్లో లేదా చదువులో మొదటి స్థానంలో ఉన్న వ్యక్తికి ఎల్లప్పుడూ మొదట రావడానికి ఒత్తిడి ఉంటుందని, తనకు రెండో స్థానం వచ్చినా తనను తాను దిగజార్చుకున్నట్లు భావిస్తాడు. కానీ 59వ స్థానంలో వచ్చిన వ్యక్తి ఒత్తిడి లేకుండా 48, 37, 23, 16వ స్థానాల్లో రావచ్చు. కాబట్టి ఈసారి నువ్వు నాకు ఒక ఈ సహాయం చెయ్యి, వచ్చేసారి పరీక్షల్లో తరగతిలో 49 వ స్థానంలో రా‌ అని చెప్పాడు. 

ఆ తర్వాత నాన్న ఇంకో చాలా మంచి విషయం చెప్పారు అది "వైఫల్యం అనేది ఒక సంఘటన వ్యక్తి కాదు" అని పదిహేనేళ్ల కుర్రాడికి ఓటమి భయం తొలగించే అద్భుతం అది.

So I Was in ninth standard, in every standard, we had to take our report card to our father. So I went to him and I said,You please sign it.  So he looked at my grade and he said, You are 59th in the class?

I said, yes. He said, how many students are there in the class? 

I said 60. (& Now I thought he's going to get upset with me)

So he said, you know, I think a person who comes first in sports or in studies is always tense about coming first. Even if he comes second, he feels that he has demoted himself. But a person who has come 59th can always come 48th, 37th, 23th or 16th. So do me a favor, next time come 49th in the class. And then he said something very nice. And then he said something very nice. "Failure is an event not a person", So for a fifteen-year-old boy to take away the fear of failure was, I think, amazing.
